How do I install Magely?
- Go to the Attio App Store and search for Magely
- Click Install to add it to your workspace
- Open Magely settings from the Apps section in Attio
- Click Connect Xero and sign in with your Xero account
- Select the Xero organisation you want to sync with
What Xero permissions does Magely need?
Magely requests access to your contacts and invoices in Xero. It cannot access bank accounts, payroll, or any other financial data.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every workspace gets a 14-day free trial with full Pro features. No credit card required to start. You can subscribe to a plan from the Billing section in Magely settings when the trial ends.
How do I create a Xero invoice from a deal?
- Open any Deal record in Attio
- Make sure the deal has a monetary value set and a contact linked (with an email address)
- Click the actions menu (the icons in the top-right area of the record)
- Select Create Xero Invoice
- The invoice will be created as a Draft in Xero
How do I sync a contact to Xero?
- Open any People record in Attio
- Click the actions menu at the top of the record
- Select Sync to Xero
- The contact will be created or updated in Xero
How do I see invoice status on a deal?
- Open a Deal record where you have created an invoice
- In the record sidebar, click the + button to add a widget
- Select Xero Invoice from the list
- The widget shows the invoice number and status (Draft, Awaiting Payment, Paid, or Overdue)
What does the deal need before I can create an invoice?
Two things:
- A monetary value (the deal amount, e.g. $500)
- A linked contact with an email address (under Associated People)
If either is missing, Magely will show an error message explaining what's needed.
What plans are available?
Starter at £19/month (or £190/year) includes invoice creation, contact sync, and the invoice status widget. Pro at £59/month (or £590/year) adds automatic invoice creation when deals reach Won stage, and overdue invoice alerts.
How do I subscribe?
- Open Magely settings in Attio
- Scroll to the Billing section
- Click Subscribe to Starter or Subscribe to Pro
- Complete payment through the secure Stripe checkout
How do I manage my subscription or update payment details?
In Magely settings, click Manage Billing. This opens the Stripe customer portal where you can update your card, switch plans, view invoices, or cancel.
What happens when my trial ends?
Invoice creation and contact sync will pause until you subscribe to a plan. Your existing data in Attio and Xero is not affected. Subscribe from the Billing section in settings to resume.
"Deal has no monetary value set"
The deal needs a monetary/currency value. Open the deal in Attio, find the Deal value field, and enter an amount. Then try creating the invoice again.
"No contact email found on the deal"
Magely needs an email address to create the invoice in Xero. Make sure:
- The deal has a person linked under Associated People
- That person record has an email address
"Xero not connected"
Go to Magely settings in Attio and click Connect Xero. If you were previously connected, your Xero session may have expired. Reconnecting only takes a few seconds.
"Plan expired" or actions not working
Your free trial has ended or your subscription is inactive. Go to Magely settings and subscribe to a plan from the Billing section.
I created an invoice but can't find it in Xero
Invoices are created as Drafts. In Xero, go to Business → Invoices and check the Draft tab. The invoice reference will include the deal name from Attio.
The Xero Invoice widget shows "No invoice"
The widget only shows invoices created through Magely. If you created the invoice directly in Xero (not via the Create Xero Invoice action in Attio), it won't appear in the widget.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Magely uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to Xero, meaning we never see or store your Xero password. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We only access the contacts and invoices needed for sync.
Can I disconnect Xero?
Yes. Go to Magely settings and click Disconnect Xero. This revokes access immediately. Your existing data in both Attio and Xero remains unchanged.
